TEC TALK By Mary-Alice Avila
Good News from NCARB
The CSI Construction Documents Educational Programs (CDEP) has long been realized by CSI members as a standard for competent practice in the industry.
NCARB, through the Intern Development Program (IDP), is now becoming more closely aligned with construction industry practice. It now allows interns to earn training units by completing CSI Certification in three areas.
The first, Construction Documents Technologist (CDT), is also the prerequisite to Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) and Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA). Each of these certifications equate to five training units, or 40 hours towards satisfying the NCARD requirements. That works out to a total of 120 possible hours.
More importantly, you’ll gain a competitive advantage, and become known in the industry for your comprehensive knowledge of writing and managing construction documents.
